Handling of Candidates with Special Needs

ZEC is dedicated to providing equitable, reliable, and valid examination and assessment services. Special arrangements can be made for candidates with disabilities to ensure fair assessment conditions without advantage. Candidates’ disabilities are categorized into Physical Impairment (P.I), Intellectual Impairment (I.I), Low Vision (L.V), Braille (B.R), Hearing Impairment (H.I), and Multiple Disabilities (M.D), depending on the nature and severity of their conditions.

National School Examinations

The Standard Four National Assessment format is based on the Primary School curriculum for Standards III and IV, as introduced by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training. This curriculum is guided by the Education and Training Policy, which emphasizes learners’ competence across all domains. The assessment aims to evaluate pupils’ reading, writing, and arithmetic skills at a level that enables them to apply their knowledge to solving social, political, economic, and technological problems for personal and national development.

National Teacher Education Examinations

The Diploma Teacher Education Examination is administered at the end of the diploma-level teacher training programme. It evaluates candidates’ mastery of pedagogical theory, practicum skills, and subject-matter knowledge to ensure they meet national standards for diploma-qualified teachers.
